In 2013 Clunie Mackenzie wrote and directed the latest of the promenade plays around Dr Neill’s Garden next door to Duddingston Kirk.With charming storyline, jaunty original music, songs to sing, larger than life characters, outdoor theatre flourishes in the Duddingston Kirk Manse Gardens venue
The performers guide the audience deftly around the nooks and crannies, corners and leafy bowers of this stunning space.
Music and Song
Accompanied along their journey by original music and songs written by John Sampson, pictured left, (The Big Picnic (BBC 2) and Rab C. Nesbit) to captivating effect.As they wend their way with the audience to save the planet from destruction, Tumshie and Heather Belle meet many quirky characters to assist them along their way!
Aimed at 4-11 year olds, the characters of Tumshie (Robert Williamson) and Heather Belle (Catriona Fraser) lead them on a picturesque quest through the magical and beautiful Dr. Neil’s Garden. They journey back in time and join these magical creatures in their beautiful World and help them save it from destruction in order to save the world.
A gentle interactive story taking place outdoors this is a family adventure with an ecological theme set against the stunning backdrop of Duddingston Kirk Manse Gardens.
