To The Cross
A promenade production for Easter Sunday. Returned by popular demand.

This will be the sixth production of this play. Two productions have been performed at St Mary's Cathedral, Haddington, two in Sacred Heart, Lauriston and was last seen five years ago, in Duddingston.
It is most certainly a play rather than a re-enactment and is set in modernistic style, the writing based on the Gospels and the poetry of Michael Justin Davis. The play is dramatised by Charles Nowosielski. It begins with an invitation to join in the play in 12 different languages.
The scenes and action take place around the manse gardens and the village of Duddingston. Via the various scenes: The Last Supper, The Beatitudes, Gethsemane, the Way of the Cross, the audience is led back to the gardens for the crucifixion.
For the first time however, as the production is performed on Easter Sunday rather than before, the Resurrection has been specially written. The performers come from all parts of Edinburgh and beyond. Professional actors, Keith Hutcheon, Simon Tait, Suzanne Dance, Anne Lannan, Robert Williamson and others are joined by leading amateur performers, John McColl and Roger Linton with some 30 other members of various parishes in Edinburgh and East Lothian including members of Theatre Alba's Dunbar Youth Group.
The Musical Director John Sampson is joined by Richard Cherns who with three others make up the musical background.
The play is directed by Charles Nowosielski.
